  1. Great product Review by John

I use the light guard on my Glock 17 It is my everyday carry and conceals easy in my DeSantis owb holster. Yep owb holster of course my shirts hang out! Only down side is I holster and unholster several times each day 365 days and the batteries on the LG and the rear activated laser don't last long. I have had to replace both batteries inside a year. I do practice clearing the house with the firearm so I'm sure this has something to do with this. Thank goodness CT has batteries for life! (Posted on 12/27/2016)

  2. Highly recommended for plain clothes Review by CO Cop

I've used this light with the Desantis holster as a plain clothes detective for over one year without any issues. The light is very bright and I haven't had to replace the batteries yet. The activation switch on the grip is an ideal location allowing you to keep your trigger finger indexed/free and not have to use that finger to activate the light like other weapon lights. It's also very light weight and not bulky. I highly recommend this light, especially for concealed carry and plain clothes assignments! (Posted on 7/13/2016)

  3. Great Prudects & even Greater Company! Review by Billy

The Light is a high quality product like you'd expect from CT. I think it's just a personal choice that I didn't like the Light so much. I think it's mainly due to it not fitting in my Holster (I don't carry, it's just to cover the Trigger as the one external safety my Glock has), & didn't like the look or more important the feel of it when mounted. I did learn (& the Rep and I discussed it), that while everything these days seem to be about more, brighter, etc., in reality, 100 Lumens, especially in a house, is more than plenty, & as the Rep explained which I hadn't thought of but makes a lot of sense. In a house or Close Quarters, if there's too many Lumens and you shine it against a White wall, you can end up blinding yourself, especially if you hear "a bump in the night" & your eyes are adjusted to the dark from sleeping. I actually tried it, (Not with the Laser as that's dangerous to the eyes), by flashing the Light in my eyes by quickly hitting the on button a few times. I'd say for a good 3-5 minutes after, wherever I tried to look & focus was washed out by a bright flash burned in my focus area, blocking my vision, & you'd think a BG would be breaking in in the darkest area, so their eyes are adjusted to the dark making it even worse. I'm confident, if the Light was shined in a BG's eyes that were used to the dark, you'd have a great advantage as their eyes wouldn't be able to focus on anything for at least 3 minutes & probably much more, which is forever in a "Bad Situation."
The one issue I had, which they seem to know about from many others as well (& have probably corrected by now) & are switching the Light out for me, is the tendency, even if as I was, you know about the issue and are very careful, for the screws to strip in the Light, making it impossible to take off or re-install.
I'm really writing about the company. They make excellent products (the LightGuard screws stripping are bound to happen with all the products they make.) But the main thing is that they own up to problems & stand strongly behind their products. They could of blamed the User or said its out of Warranty or whatever, but they didn't. They admitted (at least to me) that they knew about the problem & provided a Hassle-Free fix. Simply send us the Light & we'll send you a new one. That's true Customer Service at its best! I believe that besides the great products they make, that's the real reason they're considered "Number 1" for Lasers & Lights. They're both in it for and looking at the long-haul, & know as more people equip their gear, or more of their gear with Lasers & Lights, they will be the "Go-To" company for products, as I know both for myself as well as most others that have dealt with them, that they leave little room for customers to go elsewhere else for products. Even if another company makes a similar product, &/or is even a little less expensive, knowing the quality of their products & how they stand behind them, more than makes up for any minimal extra cost knowing you'll be happy with their product & if not, they'll do what is necessary to make it right. I look at any extra cost as really paying for the peace of mind that you'll not only get a great product, but that they'll stand behind it to make sure it works as advertised & promised. I have extensive experience in working with companies to provide excellent Customer Service & in my experience they understand this & are truly top class when it comes to taking care of customers.
I don't usually write reviews, & certainly not such long ones. But, as I said before about having extensive experience in this area, I feel obligated to write an in-depth review when I see a company that is the epitome of how a company should run & that has created & maintains a culture of excellence & imbues their employees with a true understanding of what Customer Service is about. Which is not that "The Customer is always right", but that a Customer that will return and stay loyal, as well as recommend them highly to their friends, is what it's about, if your trying to build a company that will be around for a long time & do well, instead of looking for "The quick buck". LightGuard was easy to install. It provides great light with easy activation on my 23. Another great CrimsonTrace product. (Posted on 6/12/2014)

  6. disappointed Review by Ryan

After installing my new crimson light guard I took it to the range. After 5 rounds it fell apart. I put it back together and the light won't work. ...... I felt embarrassed in front of my friends for I encourage them to purchase the said item .

Ryan - sounds like the installation screws were put in through the wrong side, they should be installed into the left side. Please contact Customer Service 800-442-2406. (Posted on 5/25/2014)

  7. item not good Review by marksman

after installing the crimson lightguard onto my glock 19 I took it to the range. after 5 rounds it came apart. ... I have a Gen 4 Glock 19. I never felt so embarrassed in front my friends, for I encouraged them to purchase this item for their glocks as well.

Marksman, please contact Crimson Trace at 800-442-2406, sounds like the installation screws were installed on the wrong side. They should be inserted into the left side. (Posted on 5/25/2014)

  8. Would like it better if it ran off CR123A batteries Review by Camoman3931

I love this little light. fits great on my Glock 17 Gen 4. but everything else i run that takes batteries uses CR123A. like my Eotech 556 sight, SureFire Scout light, and Laserlyte K-15. So for me personally it would fit my load out better if it ran off the CR123A. Also i am sure this light would have a much longer run time if it utilized a bigger battery. (Posted on 2/1/2014)

The LTG-736 LightGuard has surpassed all of my expectations so far as I have only had it for about 2 weeks. This truly is a great light for home defense and slim enough for every day conceal carry, which I do use everyday. I also got the DeSantis holster for it, the only issue I have is that I wish the DeSantis holster was a bit more rigid as it seems to collapse when the weapon is removed. As to the LightGuard there is nothing other to say except awesome, incredible and lifesaving in the darkest of hours. (Posted on 10/30/2013)

  10. Awesome customer service! Review by Shannon

Bought this light and first time I took it to the range it quit working. Called Crimson Trace and was impressed that a real live person actually answered the phone! No "press 1 for English" or "your call will be taken in the order it was received." And it was great that I could actually understand the gal on the other end, no outsourcing to some call center in India. They mailed me a new light and a prepaid mailer to send the defective one back. The inside components on the new light are slightly different so I am guessing the problems have been resolved. So far no problems with the new light. Nice and bright, it lights up a dark room great, you'll definitely be able to see what you need to see with this light. I have other Crimson Trace products and their lasers have never failed. Yes, the first light gave trouble, but the customer service I received was top notch and the defective Lightguard won't keep me from purchasing more Crimson Trace products in the future. 11. Small concealable light. Review by Kyle

I bought this light 3-4 months ago at a local gun range. Easy to install. Easy to use. Light is bright. Also I like the size of the light it is concealable and isn't bulky like most lights. Fits great in the Crossbreed Supertuck IWB. I put a set of Hogue grips on and it helps even everything out with the button. (Posted on 5/30/2013)

  12. It's okay, have some grip/design issues Review by Bartimus

Looks cool, fits great on the gun. In tandem with the lasergrip, makes the Glock 23 look like some kind of futuristic space gun. My major complaint is that I have medium sized hands, but the button mount on the finger grip of the glock coupled with the slight increase in thickness to the trigger guard, jams the second knuckle of my middle finger from the top. It actually hurts to just hold the gun in a grip position due to the downward pressure exerted on the top of my finger. It also seems to add to the discomfort of shooting even after just 13 rounds. My other complaint is that when I grip the gun from a holster, the light flashes momentarily from pressing the button on the grasp, giving my position away or causing attention to be drawn to me, especially with a holster with an opening at the end of the barrel. I shouldn't have to play with finger placement or lightly gripping the gun to draw or insert into a holster. I don't think the button placement is the best. Also, if you install both the Lightguard and Lasergrip, you will have a hell of a time trying to activate one without activating the other. On a full combat grip you are going to light up your target with both laser and light, which might not always be the most tactical choice. Keeping your trigger finger on the rail while presenting the gun is very important. There will be too much thinking going on about what is activating what. (Posted on 5/28/2013)

  13. disappointed Review by BMF

I purchased this for my Glock 23. The light is very bright and easy to use and install. HOWEVER, the design of the light has caused my hand to shift slightly downward on the grip. My fingers no longer line up on the handle of the pistol the way they are intended to. This makes shooting awkward and uncomfortable. I will be returning this product and I will look for some other type of light that is rail mounted... (Posted on 3/5/2013)

  14. Fits: Glock 30 Sub Compact Review by JG

I bought this to fit my Glock model 30. It didn't fit right away. However I did some light trimming around the bottom of the trigger guard on the light guard. Now it fits almost like it was meant to be there. And, it works beautifully in conjunction with the guide rod laser sight. (Posted on 2/28/2013)

  15. garbage Review by colfusion

Bought the LGT-736 new, it failed within 2 weeks, with maybe 1 minute of total runtime. CT told me to send it in for repairs and they'd have a replacement back to me in 2 weeks time. Now 3 MONTHS later, they're still not in stock and CT will not refund my $ b/c it wasn't purchased directly from the CT site. So there's $160 down the tubes. (Posted on 2/18/2013)

  17. Excellent Concealed Carry Accessory Review by RAWJR

I have a Glock 23 Gen 4 that I use as one of my two concealed carry pistols. I absolutely love the light guard, especially at night. Just make sure that the master switch is on, and it will work every time. I teach concealed carry tactics and I recommend this product to all of my students. I would only ask that you make one for my H&K USP 45C. You cannot go wrong with this product. (Posted on 1/4/2013)

  18. The best investment for my GLOCK 19! Review by J-Dream

I am only 5'2" and have little hands. This added an un-measurable amount of thickness to the very top of the grip and is so easy to turn off and on with it's pressure switch. For a small lady, the size, weight and simplicity of this tach light, along with its effectiveness, considering the size of the reflective cone and LED lamp, is just awesome! I'm a soldier in the Army and I would choose this over anything they issue in a heart beat! Love, love, love it! XOXO to Crimson Trace (Posted on 11/15/2012)

  19. Great product, but needs a Glock 27-fitting model (and laser) Review by Glock27User

Sadly, this doesn't fit on a subcompact Glock, which is one of the few Glocks that really NEED a product like the Lightguard. Subcompacts, with the exception of the 29, have no rail; Glocks with rails have tons of light and laser options. I guess you could say they'd corner the light/laser market on subcompact Glocks.

While they are at it, please add a small laser right above the light in future versions. (Posted on 11/1/2012)

  20. Crimson Trace Excellence! Review by Terry

I am very impressed with this product. I searched / researched for about 3 months before selecting this product. I have the LG-619 on the weapon as well and both combined adds to the confidence I need to protect my family if needed.being able to identify the threat and then having confidence to place the shot in low light / no light is what thisis all about. THANK YOU CTC!!

  21. Outstanding product--has a powerful light and it does not change the guns feel in my hand. Review by Greg

I just got the Lightguard for my Glock 23. It is compact, fits precisely and mounts easily in just a couple of minutes. The light is plenty powerful, and is activated easily and intuitively with pressure from the middle finger of my grip hand. The pressure to activate is fairly light, though, and at the range I sometimes inadvertently activated the light while shooting, just with my normal firing grip. There is a master switch to turn the light off, which is handy for the range, but in a real situation activating the light inadvertently could give my position away. Some practice while firing will be needed to learn the right pressure control.

The Lightguard did not noticeably change the recoil or feel of the gun in my hand, except that if you wrap your off-hand index finger around the front of the trigger guard when firing, you will no longer be able to do this (not an issue for me as I don't shoot this way).

The ability to easily activate the light for a second or two to scan a room, then instantly go dark, could be a lifesaver. This can be done from a ready-to-fire posture. Hopefully CTC will come out with a light for the Glock 21 soon. (Posted on 3/19/2012)

  22. Another great product from Crimson Trace Review by Devereaux

Just put one on my G 23 Gen 4 and could not be more happy. Fits like a glove and amazingly bright for something so small. I did not want to spend the money at first, but am glad I did now. This light is bright and worth the $. Thanks again Crimson Trace for another great product!!! (Posted on 3/15/2012)

  23. Great Product Review by Wu

This is a great product. It fits well and easy to install. At first I thought it was a slide on unit like the other lights but in order to fit the factory profile of the firearm it have to be clamp on in two pieces. The light it self is not a spot light rather it is more like a flood light. Front master switch is a great idea too. I am very happy with the unit. I will be looking into more units as time goes on.

When will there be one available for the sub compacts? (Posted on 3/11/2012)

  24. GREAT JOB!!! Review by Wu

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT. Easy to install. I was really hoping to have a unit that would slide on and lock into place with the rail but I am NOT complaining because this is the only way to make it fit with the width of the sidearm.

When is the one for sub-compact going to hit the market? (Posted on 3/10/2012)

  25. Huge light in Compact package Review by beequick

I was shocked by the amount of light that this tiny package is capable of throwing out. Lit up my hallway like a much larger handheld light would. On my G19 it comes right up to the edge of frame for a nice clean look. The added weight is barely perceptible. Now I'm just waiting for my new Crossbreed Supertuck holster to arrive to I can actually carry it! (Posted on 3/8/2012)

  26. 10mm and .45 acp? Review by Chris

Seems like a great product. Crimson trace would definitely have another customer if they made one of these for my glock 29. (Posted on 3/7/2012)

  27. Awesome!!! Review by SEMi

Picked this up for my Gen 4 Glock 19. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a tactical light. Fits perfect and super bright. (Posted on 2/29/2012)

  28. RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT!!!! Review by EP3

Seriously bright. I found it necessary for some reason to flash the light into my eyes and saw spots for a few minutes. In unison with my ctc laser its a deadly combo. 5 stars all the way. Also it would b nice for a summer comfort for full size glocks. (Posted on 2/8/2012)

  29. Love CT Products Review by Gary

I own eleven CT systems, and can attest to their "added value" factor. I would very much like to see "Light Guard" systems developed for the Glock 27 and Glock 36 Slimline. The Light Guard, used in combination with the "Laser Guard," would truly complete a great package. There are many 27's and 36's out there - how about it, CT? Thanks - Gary (Posted on 2/4/2012)

  30. excellent Review by Joe

Light weight powerful, easy to install. Cleared an empty building the other night and could have read a book with the light it produced.

Looking for a duty holster that I like. (Posted on 2/1/2012)

  31. Subcompact? Review by Glock user

I've been waiting for this option to come out as opposed to the rather large tac light mounted on the front of my handgun, but unfortunately there's not an option for my subcompact glock that I carry cconcealed. (Posted on 1/26/2012)

  32. Glock 30 needs lightguard Review by

  33. Terrific product. Small footprint, Big on performance. 5/5 Review by Capt Gary

Terrific product> At first concerned that light was smaller than a surefire which does have more lumens. But this light is quite adequate for the job. Combined with Laser, you can use laser and selectively
control front light switch without changing grip. That constitutes a great deal of flexibility. By not engaging your grip finger you can either select light on or light off while griping gun. This does not affect your
    shooting .
Combined with the new holsters that accommodate the light guard and laser your all set with a complete system.
Can't wait for them to come out with one for the Glock 30!!!!!

  35. Perfect size Review by Mr.Kirbyknowsbest

This is the perfect light for those whose don't want to buy a light that sticks out further than the gun and does't weigh a ton. I didn't want to buy a light because it seems as if none of them were right for me. They were just too big. I just bought the crimson trace lightguard and it is just perfect for me and my Glock 22. It's very light and it has a very low profile. Thanks Crimson Trace for such a perfect product. (Posted on 12/21/2011)

  37. another great ctc product Review by multi holsters

I was hooked first on CTC lasers, I own around 15 of them. Yes, I have quite a few cause I mold holsters for them. When I was introduced to the LightGuard, I had to get all 3. Great for home defense and slim enough for every day conceal carry. If you are looking for a holster for it, feel free to check out what I have to offer at (Posted on 12/17/2011)
