  1. Great product. Review by J.Ponce
    Rating

I have had mine for several months now. It has worked well on my S&W M&P 40 compact. I did have to cut off the safety. Since I am right did not need the ambidextrous safety on the right side. This something for the buyer to consider if lady handed and wants to keep the safety feature. Otherwise, it is a great product. (Posted on 8/23/2016)

  2. Any left handed issues with the laser being blocked with your right hand? Review by Joe
    Rating

Just curious, I am left handed and noticed that when I grip my gun with my right hand that the laser sight is blocked by my thumb. Is this normal for a lefty? I have had the same weapon grip for over 20 years and have minimally practiced several hundreds of hours of concealed weapon carry training and courses and put thousand of rounds down range and couldn't imagine changing my weapon grip to vary to something else to accommodate this laser that is mounted on the right side of my left handed weapon. Any thoughts feedback would be appreciated. I have contacted Crimson Trace and expect that they will help exchange this product for something that better fits my needs. I will follow up once I resolved my issue. (Posted on 5/20/2016)

  3. LG-661 for S&W M&P Compacts ??? Sure, with exceptions.. Review by John
    Rating

I have Lasergrips on My Colt M-1991 and my S&W M-617. I use them mostly to train for muscle memory. The laser sights are a great training tool, and I can pretty much hit inside an 8 inch circle at 25 feet with the 1991 without using sights or the laser, as long as the weapon is in front of me at chest level. HOWEVER......

I have a S&W M&P .45 Compact, purchased in 2010 or 2011, which I think is a great firearm for many reasons, and would be my first choice for a defensive weapon IF CRIMSON TRACE WOULD MAKE A LASERGRIP FOR IT!!!!! I call every couple of years to inquire, and get no, we don't make one, and no, there are no immediate plans to make one. Come on, can if be that difficult to make????

  4. worth it Review by timothy

I purchased this sight and haven't had a regret. Once it was sighted in, target practice became child's play. It has paid for itself many times over. Works great for both day and night shooting. I carry daily for personal defense and it doesn't interfere with my molded holsters. (Posted on 6/30/2015)

  5. Lasergrip for M&P 40C Review by JK
    Rating

I purchased these lasergrips for my M&P 40C in 2012, and have been a huge fan ever since. Once I got them dialed in, shooting tight groups even from your waist is possible! I love them so much, I want them on every gun I carry and/or have in my nightstand. Can't say enough good things about them. Oh BTW, I am still on the same batteries that came with it 2.5 years ago.

  6. Perfect feel and function. Review by Michael
    Rating

The LG-661 Lasergrip came factory installed on my M&P 40C.

After reading several reviews (and before receiving the firearm), I was a bit concerned that the lasergrip would be too large or make the 40C's grip feel strange.

In my opinion, this laser enhances the grip, and is actually an improvement from the factory grip. I'm sure opinions may vary. I have large hands if that helps in your decision to purchase.

The laser is activated naturally and instinctively without hardly any effort.

You pretty much just have to think about wanting the laser on, squeeze the grip just a hair more than normal, and it's there.

My laser was factory adjusted perfectly to coincide with point of aim at room distances in my apartment.

The LG-661 is the perfect accessory for the M&P Compact and worth every cent. (Posted on 4/11/2015)

  7. Wouldn't buy anything else! Review by NDGunnerr
    Rating

I've got 5 other Crimson Trace Laser Grips on other guns so when I got an S&W M&P Compact I ordered the Laser Grips when my dealer ordered the gun. When a product works as well as these do why would I try anything else?
These like all my other grips from Crimson Trace, mounted them on the gun, a couple small adjustments at the range sighting in the gun. Now every time I go to the range to practice, the laser is right on center mass on the target. One other consideration that is important for a carry gun, the shots on target are at least 50% faster than using conventional sights. This is life and death for a carry gun. (Posted on 3/29/2015)

  8. M&P .40c Review Review by Steve L
    Rating

I got this a week after i got my gun now some 4 years. In a competition i fell and hit the ground hard, i think i damaged the unit, it would not stay on target. I saw the team at Pennsylvania Gun show and he told me to send it back for repair, I did and now 3 years later, never had a single problem, with thousands of rounds and shoots done, this is one stable laser. I'm amazed it does never move. Only thing looking for it to come out in Green. When it does i will upgrade. (Posted on 2/6/2015)

  9. Great accessory for my MP9c Review by Deputy Norm
    Rating

Works like a charm. Dead on from the box. I especially like the on/off switch for when I am shooting at the indoor range for when I want to practice with the iron sights without a distraction.

I was using the small insert that came with the iron. It took a nano second to adjust the the minor change.

    Thanks CTC! (Posted on 1/3/2015)

  11. Great Product..Instinctive Activation is the ONLY way to go Review by Gburg
    Rating

I love the Lasergrips on my M&P 40c. They were right on target out of the box for mid-range tactical shooting. I have stippled them like my grip and the secure non-slip grip is now superior. The instinctive activation is the advantage that Crimson Trace has over their competitors. There is room for other products..lights and lasers with separate switches..and Crimson Trace provides some of the best products to cover those preferences as well. I love the lasergrip and laserguard instinctive combo that is offered for the M&P full size. It is absolute perfection for tactical shooting and keeps both hands on the pistol. Crimson Trace NEEDS to make the lightguard for the M&P compact as well, maybe in the over/under configuration like the 1911 model to keep it from extending past the barrel. Then my go to gun will be complete perfection! (and all made in the USA) (Posted on 3/19/2014)

  12. Very Large Review by skt9c
    Rating

The laser grip is bigger than even the large backstrap of the M&P 9c. My M&P came with a set that I sold soon after. It's an excellent product, just no useful to me and a everyone else who shot my gun. I think CT/S&W should make it clear how large the grips are as they drastically alter the size of the grip. 13. perfect fit Review by Carlos
    Rating

at first i thought that the price was too high for my purchases but after years of shooting and normal wear and tear, the laser is still on it's original batteries and has never had to be re-zeroed. the quality GREATLY SURPASSES the original sticker shock and buyers remorse soon felt for such a small product. but that's why we're here right? nifty small electronics that make our lives easier and tactiCOOL. after my satisfaction with my first lasergrip for 1911, i bought this laser for my wife's m&p and she fell in love with it. like mine, this one came zeroed in for the pistol's sights that no adjustment was necessary. the grip size was the same as the one selected by my wife for her comfort. the rear placement of the activation guaranteed activation each time she drew the weapon. best of all, we like that we didn't have to change or purchase a new holster. we're excited to see what new items CT will be unveiling. 14. No Complaints Review by Peter
    Rating

I've had this installed on my pistol for several years now. Once I had it zeroed in it hasn't changed with thousands of shots fired. CT will be the only company I go to for lasers and gun mounted lights. (Posted on 12/14/2013)

  15. Great Tool Review by SamIAm1776

It's a great tool as an extension to your side arm. It activated seamlessly and once dialed in it is very accurate. I feel comfortable and safe with it. (Posted on 7/8/2013)

  16. Easiest to install... Review by Jimbo96
    Rating

This is one of the easiest laser sights to install because it is designed to replace the grip swell, and is about the same size as the medium grip swell. Seems to hold center well as I have not noticed any change in a couple hundred rounds. Haven't removed and replaced it yet, so I don't know if it will continue to hold center, but suspect it will as the fit seemed close to perfect when I installed it. Since it is instinctual to switch on with a slight squeeze of the hand and grip mounted all holsters can be used that are made for the gun. (Posted on 3/17/2013)

  17. A True Personal Defense Product Review by mr.sights
    Rating

I have owned this product for over 2 years. I have it installed on an M&P 40c. Running on the original batteries and holds zero excellent. Haven't had to readjust it since I sighted in. I train on an above average basis and carry everyday. I am a firearms instructor for both civilians and law enforcement and recommend CTC Laser Grips to all my students. If you are serious about personal defense then this is a must have product. CTC Laser Grips are as important on your gun as the bullets are in your gun. (Posted on 1/21/2013)

  18. Funtions Great - Rugged Build Review by Peter
    Rating

It's a piece of cake to attach and detach the Lasergrip from my M&P9C. When installed, it fits my hand perfectly. It activates when I want it, it doesn't interfere with holstering the pistol in my Fobus holster, and is dead accurate. I zeroed it for 50', using the provided hex wrench, but it's still deadly accurate for engagements at closer ranges. The Crimson Trace laser is ideal for fast target acquisition, especially in less-than-ideal conditions. Firing from the ground, during defensive shoots, is where I saw the most benefit. I'm glad I invested in the Crimson Trace Lasergrip for my S&W M&P9C. (Posted on 11/30/2012)

  19. Expensive, but worth it Review by OldCop
    Rating

I use a .40 M&P compact for off duty carry. The laser grip module works well, and (most importantly) doesn't require extra steps or actions to use. The laser doesn't replace the sights, but it sure does help when you are forced to fire from a less than optimal position, or while on the move. (Posted on 11/2/2012)

  23. Best laser for the buck. Review by Michael
    Rating

The Crimson Trace LG-661 Laser Grips for the Smith & Wesson M&P compact are the best laser sights I have seen for a pistol. They installed quickly and with no problem. Turn them on with the main power button and when you grab the grips the laser lights and you get a fantastically bright clear dot.

I aligned mine for 25 feet and then tested it from 4 yards to 25 yards. From the hip I got great groupings including a 3" grouping at 25 yards. This is better than I can do using the iron sights.

This is the best accessory I have purchased for any of my 3 M&P weapons.

Well worth the cost. Great fit and finish. Not a complaint but Id love to see it come with a green laser option.

I will be purchasing the LG-660 for my M&P 9mm and a CT product for my M&P Shield.

    Rating

"Fits Smith & Wesson M&P Compact .9mm, .40 S&W, .357 SIG models except .45 Compact and ambidextrous safety models."

While it's understandable that there would be a tough time creating a lasergrip for the M&P ambidextrous safety models, it MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE AT ALL that CTC still does not offer a lasergrip for the .45 compact after YEARS of customer requests for it.

The S&W M&P .45 Compact is probably the best of all the models of the M&P line due to its large caliber, M&P design, and above all, concealability.

CTC has missed the boat on this one for sure.

Personally, I have already switched to a Virdian Green Laser C5L (green is better in tactical situations than red...another thing CTC does not offer currently.)

CTC GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND MAKE A LASERGRIP FOR THE M&P .45 COMPACT ALREADY!!! AND START MAKING GREEN LASERS!!! (Posted on 3/12/2012)

  26. M&Pc Laserguard? Review by PM
    Rating

I've tried many CT products, and prefer the laserguard for CC systems. I do not like adding width since it detracts from concealabilty, comfort, and for me, ergos/pointability-all critical factors. I have seen the new universal laser from CT, but don't think having to activate buttons in a time is life situation is the best option. I know holsters can be an issue for forward mounted lights & lasers, but for me, they are the only viable CC solution. (Posted on 2/24/2012)

  30. Nice, but changes the M&Pc's grip. Review by JD
    Rating

This is a great solution for those who use the largest backstrap on the M&P compacts. The reason for this is because that is the size that the laser module takes up when installed. So, if you are like me, and use the smaller backstraps to maintain a good grip for accuracy & follow up shots, you will not be able to use this solution. (Posted on 12/18/2011)

  31. I refuse to use any other laser on a defensive handgun! Review by Eric W.
    Rating

I have had a Crimson Trace Laser grip on my S&W M&P .40C for 2 years now. I carry this gun and laser the majority of the time when I leave my home. It sees a lot of use, both from carrying in a holster, and being shot. It holds its zero pretty well. I refuse to use any other laser on a defensive handgun! I believe in this product so well that I own 3 different models of Crimson Trace lasers and I'm looking to purchase 2 more! I get a faster sight picture with the laser than I do by lining up the iron sights. A huge advantage if I ever find myself in an unfortunate situation.
Crimson Trace Corporation has also sponsored HAVA ( Honoring American Vets Afield). Its nice to buy an American product, especially one that gives back and helps wounded veterans! CTC is a stand up company. I highly recommend their product!
