  1. Only Missing One Thing Review by Mark G
    Rating

I bought two CT's, one for my Glock Model 22 and one for my S&W Shield. Both are wonderful products, excellent fit and function but the LG-489 is missing a master on-off switch! (Posted on 8/5/14)

  2. shield 9 and I love it. Review by Onemoregun
    Rating

I have one of these units on my shield 9 and I love it. It makes training my kids very easy to get on target. I'm saving money for a unit for my shield 40. (Posted on 5/17/14)

  3. Need a full sized version Review by Richard
    Rating

I love this style of laser but Crimson Trace does not offer it for a full sized pistol. I have smaller hand and the laser grip for the full sized .45 is too large for me to accurately control the pistol. And I hate the rail mounted lasers (always go out of adjustment and they are not as easily deployed) so that leaves me with this option and its simply not available. (Posted on 1/22/14)

  4. Green Please! Review by Stephen

I'm all over this when CT releases it in green. The Shield is my wife's EDC, and I'm looking forward to adding this to her slim heater. (Posted on 1/21/14)

  5. Issue with intermitent off Review by Dubya
    Rating

Mine will stop working and suddenly start again, even after CT sent a replacement battery. I suspect the contacts and might try that but may send back for another. All in all disappointed thus far but I will try another unit. Mine is an lg489 for a shield. (Posted on 1/20/14)

  6. Love It! Review by HEMI
    Rating

This makes my Shield 40 twice as nice. The accuracy is incredible. Besides the accuracy, the ergonomics of the LG 489 makes it perfect for my fore thumb placement. My groups were tighter than ever.... I did have one issue though... it stopped working in the middle of a magazine and then came back on after another shot. It did this a few times. I had to tighten the battery by pulling a bit on the contact spring. Not a big deal. Worth every penny! Fitment and looks are perfect! (Posted on 1/11/14)

  7. Another great product from CT Review by TommyG

love how this laser fits and works. This is my second laser guard laser and I didn't hesitate to order this for my new Shield. Simple installation and stays true. (Posted on 12/21/13)

  8. Accuracy Review by TBH
    Rating

This is my second CT site. It amazes me how much accuracy increases by using the laser. After installation I sighted it in and then put four out of eight rounds into the same hole at fifteen yards. The overall group was under two inches and all done off hand. Wish the shield had a better trigger. CT is the only laser that I will buy! (Posted on 12/3/13)

  9. None better Review by JAMIN
    Rating

Installed this on my 9mm shield with ease. Once zeroed, has hit same point every time. Have taken a few spills on my mountain bike and the zero is still true. Tough and dependable, combine that with the DeSantis holster and that is now my go to carry and home defense gun. (Posted on 11/19/13)

  10. Sexy and form-fitting with nice sight picture Review by Wells
    Rating

I purchased the CT laserguard 489 over the laser max assuming the increased price would yield greater quality. I can't confirm this assumption as I have not used the Lasermax. However, I can say that this little laser is great! No problems installing on my 9mm shield. No interference with the mag release. I will say, however, that I was a little disappointed that the piece does not come equipped with metallic threading for the screws. Whenever I turn or tighten them I'm afraid I'll strip something. I registered the product, so I have confidence in CT to replace it if anything like that were to occur. Overall, i confidently trust my life with the shield and the CT laserguard. Thanks CT! 11. xcellent product. See review for comments on mag release 'problem.' Review by Jose
    Rating

Very good fit and function. The mag release 'problem' complained about by other reviewers is easily avoided by carefully putting the halves together at the trigger guard end first. No mod is necessary.. Excellent product. Bought thru Optics Planet at great price.

  12. LaserGuard & LaserGrip Review by SilasGreen
    Rating

I purchased a S&W M&P Shield .40 and installed the LG-489 LaserGuard. It fit perfectly. Does NOT interfer with the magazine release, as some have indicated. Sight dead on. First two rounds fired at 50 ft were in X ring. I pull the third round into 9 ring. Love it. Works great at the LazerGrip on my S&W M&P .40c Compact. The grip did take a minor elevation adjustment after the grip was installed on the weapon. Love them both. Great Laser sights. (Posted on 1/16/13)

  13. Another Mag release problem Review by Too Much Stuff
    Rating

I chose a CT Laserguard over the LaserMax brand (even at twice the price) because I wanted the Pressure Activated switch. I also thought CT would be the better quality product. That being said, I'm a little disappointed that a $200 item has to be modified to work correctly.
Mine is the 9MM Shield. I had to use a small round file on the rear of the Laserguard where it was rubbing the Mag release. It was rubbing just enough to keep the release button from popping all the way up when the Mag was inserted. It is an easy fix, but shouldn't have to be done on this expensive product.
I also wish the Laserguard had a master off switch. I would give this a 3.5 instead of a 4 star rating if I had that option. (Posted on 12/30/12)

  14. LG 489 Blocks Magazine Release Slightly Review by CaptainJim
    Rating

I had to Dremel the back of the Laser Grip so it wouldn't impair full activation and reset of the Magazine Release on my Shield .40 Cal.
Shape above the laser activator button needs to be more rounded.
Plus the Laser Grip causes the front of the Trigger Guard to have a small lip on both sides, which could catch your trigger finger and cause it to be slightly blocked upon presenting the arm.
The design of the LG489 needs to be modified a bit so it rides more forward, doesn't block the Magazine Release and creates a smooth continuous surface around the Trigger Guard.
Otherwise, it's great. Looks sharp, works properly, and seems like it was made with the gun. (Posted on 12/14/12)

  15. Excellent Review by Doc

I have complete confidence in Crimson Trace. The performance on the M&P Shield is excellent. This is why I own several laser grips and laser guards. (Posted on 11/27/12)

  16. AWESOME, but one thing to watch for. Review by Curt
    Rating

I installed the LG-489 on a 2 week old Shield 40. After sighting in, I put a magazine in and as I aimed it, the Mag fell out. Upon inspection, the CT LG-489 was rubbing against the Mag release on BOTH sides. A careful use of a Dremel Tool and it works flawlessly. This is my third CT product (I also have the LaserGrip for M&P Full Size and the LiteGuard). These products are awesome and you get what you pay for, but I am disappointed the LG-489 didn't fit properly out of the box. But I still have to give it 5 Stars! (Posted on 11/23/12)

  17. deadly Review by joezyboy

Very easy to install. I sighted it in for 15 yards can spin my 3inch spinner every time from 10 to 20 yards. Great for low light when you can not really see your sights. (Posted on 9/1/12)
