The Crimson Trace Lightguard® for 1911 Pistols features a highly compact and slim design specifically for ease of holstering. Its 130 lumen tactical white light seamlessly attaches to your non-railed Kimber, Ruger or Smith & Wesson 1911 Full size, Compact or Bobtail non railed 1911 by attaching securely to the triggerguard. Compatible with Crimson Trace Lasergrips®, Lightguard also uses the same instinctive activation that Crimson Trace laser sights are famous for. Lightguard removes the need for a flashlight separate from the pistol – giving you a free hand. Both of these low-light tools can be operated separately or simultaneously with a single hand. The LTG-701 features an ergonomic front activation pad (that works seperately with Lasergrips) that activates when your pistol is held in a natural firing grip.

Doesn't fit Ruger SR1911 Review by Collin
Doesn't fit on my Ruger SR1911. Don't waste your time and money unless you can try to fit before buying.

Works on Colt Government Review by Siffert
Another reviewer claimed this did not fit on his Colt MK1V Series 70 Government. I have the same Colt Government in stock condition and the LTG-701 fits A-OK on it. You do have to "nudge" it some to fit but it does fit and work. Not the brightest of lights, but then again, for home defense you do not want a light to blind yourself upon waking up in the middle of the night like many other higher lumen lights.. This LTG-701 is also working in conjunction with my LaserGrip LG-401. (Posted on 2/23/13)
Awesome Item - Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry II w/ Lasergrip / 701 Light Guard Review by Tim
I bought this when it first came out, snaps onto my Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry II perfectly and easily. I installed it within 10 minutes? This light is INSANE for how small it is. I'm no mathematician but I would say about 20-30ft in front of you? And it shines about 15-20ft wide. The only other thing I can say is that it works FANTASTIC with my Laser grips as well, they both set off with ease when I hold my firearm and mesh well together. I can see the laser while the light is shining bright. Oh, and for holster, I had a local fellow mold my Kimber with the light on it, and he made a custom IWB holster, works great!! Colt doesn't make the cut. Not a 1911? Review by Tom
LTG-701 Did NOT fit my Colt Mk IV/Series 70. Confirmed by your customer support. I carved it out to fit the trigger guard but I would not call it a simple job. Very tedious and lots of trial fitting. I love the function now but was very disappointed in the misleading description. So was my gun dealer. Fooled both of us.
Hope a range test shows no problems.
Apparently the review below applies to the Lasergrips not the Lightguard. You may want to remove it from the page for the Lightguard as you make no model for the Colt 1911. ?????!!
Have 4 sets of Lasergrips and they all fit perfectly. 5*.
Below is pasted from your web site.

I love how it looks on my Colt. Didn't need to change anything for elevation or windage out of the box. Love it.

Finally a Light for Railless Guns Review by Harmony Hermit
Installed on my Colt Commander Stainless. Works perfectly and instinctively with lasergrips. Nice to have a light on one of my handguns as none of my guns have rails.
One small complaint is that the light will not work on my Gold Cups as the trigger is too wide. Might work with some surgery but am not sure it will stay on if I do and it would probably void the warranty. Fortunately my normal carry/bedside Colt has a normal width trigger. (Posted on 7/25/12)
Excellent! Review by Tim
Fantastic! Was anticipating its development. However, we really need a holster ASAP. Hope that's in the works too. (Posted on 3/17/12)
