Crimson Trace Corporation today announced that its latest Laserguard®, the LG-489 for Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9/40, is now available through distribution, retailers and online. With an MSRP of $219, the new sight features Instinctive Activation™ that allows the user to activate the laser by simply taking a natural firing grip, with no additional switches to search for, find, or press. Introduction of the new Laserguard was expedited due to the exceptionally high demand for the M&P Shield, which has quickly developed a devoted following from consumers wanting a reliable, ergonomic carry gun in a potent caliber.
The Laserguard platform is the ideal and ultimate addition to concealed carry firearms. The entire unit ads virtually no weight to the firearm and is quickly and easily installed by the user simply securing around the trigger guard with provided screws. The profile for the pistol does change, which is why Crimson Trace works with top holster manufacturers to create holster solutions for all Laserguard-equipped firearms. Check out the Holster Resource Guide for details on all models. Each Laserguard is pre-sighted from the factory at 50' and is fully adjustable by the user to fine tune it to their chosen self defense ammunition. Featuring the most powerful laser allowable by law, the unit offers an industry leading 4 hour run time on one, easily replaced 1/3N battery, and also qualifies for Crimson Trace's "Free Batteries For Life" program.
"We've been working with Smith & Wesson on the M&P Shield since the early days of its development," said Michael Caulk, Director of Engineering for Crimson Trace. "We're excited to be able to offer M&P Shield owners the best defensive sight system for this excellent compact pistol."
All Crimson Trace products are proudly designed, engineered, and built in the USA.
