Choosing A Holster Style For Your Laser Equipped Handgun
Holsters are designed for a wide range of applications, and even concealed-carry holsters come in many styles and form-factors. To help you choose the holster style that's right for you and your gun, review the options below. While we may not offer holsters in some of these styles yet, rest assured we plan to in the near future.
IWB: INSIDE WAISTBAND
Inside waistband holsters may offer the highest degree of concealability by fitting snug inside the waistband of the shooter's pants. There are a variety of attachment methods to secure an IWB holster, including a paddle, belt loops, or high friction material that uses the waistband to hold the holster in place. IWB holsters are often carried at about 4 o'clock on the shooter's hip, but can usually be arranged to suit the shooter.
OWB: OUTSIDE WAISTBAND ( BELT HOLSTER )
OWB or Outside Waistband holsters tend to offer the easiest access to a concealed carry firearm, while sacrificing some concealability. With the right clothes however, an OWB or belt holster can help ensure you're quick on the draw and may be more comfortable than having a firearm wedged inside your belt.
ANKLE (CONCEALED)
For those wishing to avoid carrying a firearm on their hip or in their pocket, an ankle holster can be a welcome relief. This style of holster can be carried on the inside or outside of the leg and is concealed by the shooter's pants leg. If your firearm is appropriately sized for ankle carry, this may be the most comfortable way to carry on a daily basis.
Pocket Holster
The huge popularity of ultra-compact carry guns such as the Ruger LCP and Kel-Tec P-3AT has given rise to a new carry option. Many of these guns can be easily concealed in a front pants pocket, and a good holster helps change the print profile of the gun and should offer a grippy outer surface to remain in the pocket when drawing the pistol.
